Soccer-Supremo

Rules

Welcome to Soccer-Supremo, here are a few basic rules about the game

Team Creation

After registering to play you will need to pick your initial squad. You have 70 points to allocate to your team and this can be anything from 6 players strong to a maximum of 12. There are opportunities to get extra players through the auction and youth squad before the first match so if you only want 6 players that is fine as you will have a minimum of 11 by the time the first match is played.

Players are assigned a position, either Goalkeeper, Defender, Midfielder or Attacker/Forward. It's a good idea to aim for a balanced squad with one goalkeeper (you can buy a reserve later if you wish) and a couple of players in each position. Then you must name your players, please try to use realistic names based on the nationality you choose and allocate points. Points can be anything from 1-10 for each player, with 1 being a very poor standard of player and 10 being somewhat better. If the nationality you want isn't listed please let me know via the forums and I will add it and also change your players to that nationality.

Once you've chosen a squad your team is put into a league and you'll get a message to say how many more teams are required before the season can start, there must be 8 teams in a league before fixtures can be generated.

While you are waiting (or not) for the season to begin you can still explore the options down the right hand side menu and there are as follows:

Squad

This is work in progress at the moment as I am trying to work out the most user-friendly system. It lists your players and details such as position, skill level etc. Below the players list you'll see options for entering modifiers for your next match, you get a set amount of points to distribute as follows:

  • MPs - these are Motivation Points and you get a set amount per season. You can allocate anything from zero to 10 points per match and they can be spread amongst the various positions in the team. This is to simulate you giving your players a motivational speech before they head out onto the pitch
  • Agg or Aggression - you are allowed to allocate from 0 to 10 points between the positions, this is how aggressively your team will play. If you pick high values then there's a good chance your players will get yellow cards or even sent off and they are also more likely to injure the opposition, or themselves!
  • Captain - You can nominate any player who is picked as captain and they are given some bonus modifiers based on their age and experience. Old players get more points than younger ones and those who have played a lot of games also get a bonus. You can allocate your captains bonus to which positions you like.
  • Home Advantage - Finally you get home advantage points, if you are playing at home, the amount of points increases if you have a big stadium to simulate more fans shouting you on and also if you are playing against a top team this can help.

Reserves/Youth

You can use this option to find youth and reserve players. Each season you can find one youth player and each week one reserve player. Players discovered will need a name that you can choose (they are assumed to be the same nationality as your original squad) and youth players will get a random skill from 1-10 points, this is biased towards the lower end of the range.

Reserve players can be aged anything up to 31 years old and will have a skill level around the lower level of your existing team, so if your worst player has a rating of 4 for example, expect a reserve player to be no higher than that.

Youth players are extremely valuable as they are young and therefore easier to train than others, they tend to respond better to training. However, once a youth player has played their first season they lose this status to some extent.

Training

You have a finite amount of coaching points, more are given after each game and these can be used to try to coach players to higher skill levels. The chance of coaching being successful depends on the players age and skill, young players are easier to train and the higher skill the player is the harder it is for them to increase skill. Skill is limited to level 12 as the highest, unless a player becomes a star player when they can then be trained up to level 15 and become the best in the world.

Players can have skill level reduced through injury or by simply getting older, if a player reaches skill level 0 they will retire from the game

Fixtures

Quite simple, it's the fixture list for the season, also shows results of games that have already been played. If this is blank then there's not enough teams in your league to generate the fixtures yet.

Auction

There's an auction for players at regular stages of the season and you will see any such players here, you can bid for any auction lots you wish, there are not only players for sale here. If you want to sell your own players you get a choice of either selling them to the non-league for a set fee, or you can place them in the auction if you prefer.
